Soliloquy
Amidst chaos, noise, and relentless demands of the outside world, there is an area that people are too afraid to venture into—solitude. Solitude is not loneliness. Solitude is not emptiness. It is a conversation with the self, with the world beyond it may be poorer and less enriching than it can be. Soliloquy is that holy ground.
This is the page for embracing loneliness not as a punishment but as a possibility. It is for converting moments of quiet into moments of revelation. It is for understanding that when the din falls away, the voice within you rings the most loudly—and sometimes, that is the only one whose voice you need to hear.
Solitude is what most individuals misinterpret for loneliness. Loneliness is a void, a yearning for the companionship that doesn’t exist. Solitude, however, is intentional. It is chosen. It is the skill of companionship with oneself without ever feeling empty.
A soliloquy, by strict definition, is when an individual says what they are thinking out loud, usually by themselves. In literature, it is the moment the characters share their innermost truths. It works the same way in life.
You begin to hear what your mind is saying to you when you sit with yourself in that quietness, without all the distraction of life. Your questions that you’ve buried begin to surface. Your dreams that you’ve put off are whispering once more. Your fears that you’ve muffled at last want to be heard.
Soliloquy is not isolating oneself from the world—it is coming back to yourself. It is not avoiding companionship–it is enjoying companionship of your own soul. It is something to be strengthened in silence, inspired in stillness, and enlightened in solitude.
Once you learn to enjoy your very own soliloquy, you will never be alone. There is no voice that heals, no voice that leads, no voice that knows as in you is a voice that knows.
Then, the next time the world is too noisy, turn away into your soliloquy. Talk to yourself. Listen well. And you might just find that the answers you look for outside have been inside you all along.
